MCGLASHAN WINES

The sandy loam over buck shot clay provides the perfect soil structure for production of their premium cool climate wines. Winemaker, Robin Brocket uses French Oak to mature the wines for twelve months prior to bottling.

Tasting notes 

Pinot Grigio

Pale straw with a green tinge. Ripe pear, stonefruit and citrus notes dominate with floral hints. Fresh and zesty with upfront flavours dominating the palate with pear and stonefruits. The mid palate has citrus flavours coupled with crunchy acid gives this wine its overall structure and balance.

Enjoy this wine over the next couple of years.

 Single Stave Chardonnay

Pale straw with a green tinge.  Lifted nose of stonefruit and citrus notes with subtle spicy oak.  Fresh and lively with stonefruit and citrus fruits with a mineral mid palate and subtle oak on the finish. 

Enjoy this wine over the next 2-3 years.

 Chardonnay

Mid Golden in appearance. Complex nose exhibiting nectarine and melon fruits with buttery barrel ferment notes with a spicy oak background. A rich wine with upfront grapefruit, nectarine and peach fruits with a creamy, buttery mid palate. The wine is rounded out with firm acid and a long aftertaste.

Drink now or cellar for 4 – 8 years.

 Rosè

Pale and vibrant ruby colour. Lifted and perfumed with raspberry and strawberry fruits rounded out by scents of violets. Juicy and fresh with raspberry and strawberry fruits dominating with floral notes and savory flavours on the back palate. Firm acid and a dry finish.  

Drink now or cellar for 2 – 4 years.

 Pinot Noir

Mid Garnet in appearance. Lifted nose of plums, raspberry and violets with spicy earth background. Full and juicy showing ripe plum and dark cherry fruits with firm acid and tannin. Spicy charred oak dominates the mid to back palate.

Drink now or cellar for 6 - 8 years.

 Shiraz

Deep Garnet in appearance. Intense and complex nose of plums, cherries, licorice, spice, cloves, pepper and cedar oak. Ripe and rich with up front plums, cherries and dark fruits with spice, licorice and a fruit sweet mid palate. This is rounded out by soft round tannins with a cedar oak finish.

Drink now or cellar for 7 - 10 years.
